CJC H3 Economics Symposium 2010
Call for Papers for the CJC H3 Economics Symposium 2010
The inaugural Catholic Junior College Higher 3 Economics Symposium 2010 will be held on the 12th May 2010 in college premises. Organized by the CJC Economics Department, the title of this year’s Symposium is: “Copenhagen: Hopenhagen or Nopenhagen?”
This Symposium will serve as a forum for the exchange of ideas among students from various institutions currently taking the MOE-UCLES H3 A level Economics (9808) course. The focus will be on the application of relevant Economic theories revolving around the series of talks on climate change recently concluded in Copenhagen. We have deliberately chosen an issue that can use a variety of concepts from different themes in the H3 Economics syllabus. Thus your students are free to use any concepts to analyze the questions.
Participants are invited to submit papers based on the focus of the Symposium. They will also have an opportunity to present their papers during the Symposium. All information will be compiled and shared among the participating colleges/schools. A keynote speaker will also be invited to share his expertise knowledge on issues related to the H3 Economics syllabus.
Details of the submission requirements are attached in Appendix A. Papers can be submitted as an individual or in groups consisting of not more than 4 students. We hope to receive at least one paper submission from each college/school. The papers can be sent via email to soong_yin-yin_xiong_yingying@moe.edu.sg by 9th April 2010. A reply letter confirming your college’s participation in the Symposium is also attached in Appendix B. Please send your reply either by Fax: 6253 7267 or via the above email, no later than 26th February 2010. Please direct any queries to Ms Sharon Soong Yin Yin (H3 Economics Coordinator) at 9740 5642. We welcome any feedback from you to make this an enriching event. Thank you.
